Parent-Led and Child-Focused

The Most Effective Advocacy Starts with Parents—and Stays Focused on Kids

You know your child better than anyone else. You know their strengths, their struggles, their triggers, and the way they light up when they feel understood.

That’s why at Whole Child Advocacy, every service I offer starts with the parent.

I believe the most powerful advocacy is parent-led—driven by your insights—and always child-focused—centered on your child’s unique needs, not on school system convenience or check-the-box compliance.

What Does “Parent-Led, Child-Focused” Really Mean?

It means that your voice, your concerns, and your lived experience matter more than anyone else’s in the IEP process.

When I work with families across The Woodlands, Spring, Magnolia, and surrounding areas, I take a collaborative approach:

  • You lead the discussion by sharing what you’re seeing at home.

  • I guide you through the paperwork and evaluation data.

  • Together, we advocate for what your child actually needs—not just what the school offers.

This isn’t about demanding more services just for the sake of it—it’s about aligning support to the whole child: their academics, behaviors, emotions, and goals.

Why School-Centered Plans Fall Short

Too often, IEPs and 504 Plans are written based on:

  • What’s available on campus

  • What fits easily in the master schedule

  • What the district typically offers—not what your child uniquely needs

That’s not advocacy. That’s convenience.

A child-focused approach looks different. It asks:

  • Does this goal reflect my child’s actual struggle?

  • Do these accommodations make learning possible for them?

  • Is the support plan something my child can feel in their day-to-day experience?

Parents Drive the Best Plans

I’ve sat in hundreds of ARD meetings and I can tell you: the most effective meetings happen when the parent comes prepared. That’s where I come in.

Through 1:1 advocacy support, I help you:

  • Understand your child’s educational evaluation

  • Draft meaningful goals and parent input statements

  • Prepare for IEP or 504 meetings with clarity

  • Follow up when implementation breaks down

This isn't about fighting. It’s about being proactive, purposeful, and empowered.

The Whole Child Approach

What sets Whole Child Advocacy apart is that I don’t just review IEPs—I help families look at the entire picture:

  • Are behaviors at home connected to unmet needs at school?

  • Does your child need tutoring aligned with their IEP goals?

  • Could sensory or executive functioning supports make learning more accessible?

I work with families, tutors, and service providers to ensure your child is supported across all environments.
